in recent years, chuxiong prefecture has deeply explored the value of yi embroidery, a national intangible cultural heritage. in terms of promoting industrial development, the chuxiong prefecture propaganda department has coordinated the establishment of a special working group for the development of the yi embroidery industry, formulated the "chuxiong yi embroidery" handmade embroidery technical standards, released the "xinhua chuxiong yi embroidery industry development index", and launched 11 measures to extend and supplement the supply chain, including the bank-exclusive loan "yi embroidery loan".

in terms of park construction and enterprise cultivation, chuxiong prefecture has led the construction of two provincial-level cultural industry parks, 77 yi embroidery workshops and 513 embroidery houses, cultivated 13 yi embroidery enterprises above a certain scale and 538 yi embroidery business households, named 13 yi embroidery workstations as the first batch of national and provincial intangible cultural heritage inheritors, and cultivated 174 people to enter the list of inheritors of the intangible cultural heritage of yi clothing.

in 2023, the average annual income of 57,000 embroiderers in chuxiong prefecture will increase by 3,570 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12.26%. the added value of the yi embroidery industry will reach 275 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12.25%, which will drive more than 2,000 disabled embroiderers to find jobs nearby. in the first half of 2024, the added value of the yi embroidery industry in the prefecture will reach 158 million yuan.

it is reported that during the paris fashion week·china chuxiong intangible cultural heritage fashion show, 35 sets of chuxiong intangible cultural heritage costumes jointly designed and produced by the chuxiong prefecture propaganda department and yunnan art institute will appear on the finale show. the chuxiong yi embroidery theme international promotional video will also be shown at the intangible cultural heritage exhibition at the event venue and the unesco headquarters at the same time.

in china, the second chuxiong fashion week series of events will be held in kunming, chuxiong and beijing on september 24, october 2 and october 13.
