owc releases thunderbolt 5 mobile ssd envoy ultra with transfer rates exceeding 6000mb/s

it home reported on september 13 that owc (full name: other world computing) released the thunderbolt 5 mobile solid-state drive envoy ultra yesterday. this pssd can achieve a transfer rate of over 6000mb/s, which is significantly faster than similar products with thunderbolt 4/ubs4 specifications.

envoy ultra has an integrated cable-coil design and a passive aluminum heat sink. it is backward compatible with thunderbolt 4, thunderbolt 3, and usb4 transmission protocols. it can provide performance close to that of an internal solid-state drive and meet the daily data requirements of professional-level creative projects. it is also dustproof, waterproof, and pressure-resistant.

owc offers two capacity versions of the envoy ultra thunderbolt 5 mobile solid-state drive. the 2tb version is priced at us$399.99 (it home note: currently about rmb 2,850), and the 4tb version is priced at us$599.99 (currently about rmb 4,275). it is now accepting pre-orders and will be shipped in late october.

owc also simultaneously launched the official version of its thunderbolt 5 cable, which supports bidirectional 80gbps peer-to-peer and 120/40 gbps asymmetric data bandwidth and 240w power supply. it is available in three lengths: 0.3m, 0.8m, and 1m, priced at us$22.99/27.99 and us$39.99 respectively (currently approximately rmb 164/199 and rmb 285 respectively).
