lotus recently released an official preview of a new sports car model, named "lotus theory", which is scheduled to be launched globally on september 16. it is reported that the new car is internally codenamed "type 135" and will replace the currently sold emira model after it goes on sale. according to the product plan, the mass-produced version of the new car is scheduled to be launched no later than 2027, and will be put into production in the domestic market and exported to overseas markets. its main competitors include the upcoming porsche 718 cayman pure electric version.

in terms of power, the lotus theory model will be built on the same light electric vehicle architecture (leva) platform as the alpine a110 successor, and is expected to adopt a "mid-motor" layout design and be located behind the seat. it is reported that the new car will simultaneously launch single-motor and dual-motor models, with a maximum output power of 350kw-650kw and equipped with 66.4kwh and 99.6kwh battery packs.
