it home reported on september 12 that nissan recently held a visually impactful car bungee jump challenge in puteau, france to promote its new qashqai e-power car. the qashqai fell from a height of 213 feet (it home note: about 65 meters) and successfully won the guinness world record, becoming the highest car bungee jump in history.

to ensure safety, nissan used a special cage to secure the car and had professional racing driver and stuntman laurent lasko sit in the driver's seat.

guinness world records said that in order to successfully obtain the record certification, the car and bungee cord must remain intact throughout the process.

however, despite the guinness world record, other cars have previously performed similar bungee jumps from greater heights, such as the gmc jimmy jumping from an 865-foot (about 263.65-meter) high bridge in 1992 and the rover metro jumping from a 540-foot (about 164.59-meter) high dam on the "top gear" program.
