su chi pointed out that in the past, the two sides had many channels for communication, and could even resolve disputes through direct telephone conversations. however, now there is zero communication between taiwan and the mainland. when there is no dialogue between the two sides, both sides will judge each other to have the worst motives or intentions. as the economic scale between taiwan and the mainland becomes increasingly different, the other side no longer attaches so much importance to taiwan. in the absence of dialogue between the two sides, su chi is worried that taiwan may become a "trigger" for the united states and mainland china to go to war, which may lead to a direct conflict between the two countries.

su qi also believes that due to the misunderstanding of the taiwan region by the united states, it mistakenly believes that taiwanese people are generally willing to fight, but in fact taiwanese people may not want to sacrifice their lives. this misunderstanding puts mainland china and the united states at a higher risk of war.
