today (11), the wechat public platform operation center issued an announcement stating that the platform has recently stepped up inspections and reviews of vulgar and harmful short dramas and the handling of illegal and infringing content. a total of 479 illegal short dramas have been removed from the platform, and 46 illegal mini-programs have been removed from the platform.
the announcement mentioned that the short dramas that were taken off the shelves include "ordinary road", "the return of the urban dragon king", "uncle shanye's no. 81 jiangcheng", "return to 1990: the life of the richest man", "swallowing the sea", etc.
for example, "the ordinary road" violates the rules by maliciously rendering or displaying violent and bloody scenes; "the return of the urban dragon king" violates the rules by violating ethics and other bad plot orientations; "uncle shanye's no. 81 jiangcheng" violates the rules by promoting feudal superstition and violating the scientific spirit; and "swallowing the sea" violates the rules by promoting bad behavior and involving drug injections.
