from alpaca-colored coats and jackets to long skirts and shawls with classic tibetan patterns, and even mobile phone case accessories with matching patterns... the new tibetan felt products on the show draw on the natural genes of the land of gyantse. the new series of clothing is made entirely of artificial felt, with complex craftsmanship. a single jacket takes at least 20 days to make.
in 2022, guo xiuling, the founder of shajuan from shanghai, led a team to tibet under the contact of the 10th batch of shanghai aid-tibet cadres and talents liaison group, and went to jiangzi county, which was supported by shanghai pudong. the team visited farmers and investigated the livestock industry, promoted pilot projects, optimized the original breeding methods, and established a cashmere goat breeding cooperative. the team innovatively developed the "enterprise + cooperative + farmer" model. at present, 8 "front shop and back workshop" felt production workshops have been built on the qinghai-tibet plateau.
from the original breeding method to the current scientific breeding and cultivation of a complete gyantse cashmere industry ecosystem, the relevant projects have achieved a win-win situation in economic and ecological benefits, and explored a new path for industrial aid to tibet. today, the tibet-aiding felt studio at the doorstep of herders has become the "new workplace" for tibetan "ajias". since they started working in april 2023, their average monthly income has increased by 4,800 yuan per person.
in january this year, guo xiuling took her felt products to the paris fashion home design exhibition. the tibetan "ajia" gesang zhuoma who was traveling with her demonstrated the felt production process on site. the wonderful chinese tibetan culture attracted designers and buyers from all over the world to stop and appreciate it.
