nanhai.com reported on september 10 (by reporter du zhuohe) on the afternoon of september 6, the sky and the earth were gloomy. at the headquarters of hainan natural rubber industry group co., ltd. (hereinafter referred to as hainan rubber) located in longhua district, haikou city, strong winds and heavy rains continued to "invade" the building as the super typhoon "makar" landed.

under the strong wind and heavy rain, the fourth floor office space also became the hardest hit area. the glass outer wall of the data center room on the fourth floor of hainan rubber headquarters was suddenly broken. the storm hit and the rain poured into the room. the computer room is equipped with more than 120 sets of key equipment such as servers, switches, ups, firewalls, etc. it is not only the data "heart" of hainan rubber, but also records a lot of information on the development of the natural rubber industry in the province. once damaged, it will lead to irreparable consequences.

as the wind continued to increase, the glass exterior wall of the data center's computer room shattered, and the room experienced severe rainwater backflow. the influx of rainwater continued to threaten hainan rubber information's data security and server operations.

looking at the rain water pouring in, chen hao, a cadre selected by the organization department of the cpc central committee to work in hainan, member of the hainan rubber party committee and deputy general manager, stepped forward and led 6 employees to form an emergency rescue team to ensure the safety of the equipment in the computer room.

this is a race against the wind, rain and wind. not only do they have to race against time to protect the equipment, but they also have to keep the equipment running stably to prevent data loss. any careless step will cause a chain reaction. this is a "dilemma" facing the emergency rescue team.

taking into account the risks of system startup failure and data loss caused by server downtime, chen hao organized an emergency rescue team to drain water and carry out rescue operations as soon as possible while ensuring the safe operation of the computer room.

at this time, due to the strong wind, the glass curtain wall outside the computer room has begun to vibrate violently and may collapse or crack at any time. more leaks have appeared on the roof, and the water on the ground is above people's ankles within a few minutes.

at the critical moment, with the power supply only turned off in some areas, chen hao was the first to enter the computer room, carefully observed the on-site environment, organized the rescue team to work together, dismantled the ceiling in some areas, blocked the channel for rainwater to flow from the ceiling to the computer room, and caused the rainwater to concentrate on the outside of the computer room and flow to the ground.

at the same time, the rescue team members grabbed various containers such as dustpans, washbasins, trash cans, buckets, etc. on the spot, and quickly took turns to drain the water, draining the accumulated water outside the computer room, preventing rainwater from invading the computer room area, and transferring key equipment and facilities as quickly as possible and in the shortest time.

based on the on-site conditions, chen hao worked out a plan to drain the rainwater near the computer room through the walkway area to the staircase walkway of the annex building.

the emergency rescue team immediately responded, first shutting off the power supply in all unnecessary areas, setting up fire-fighting equipment in key areas, and using local materials such as tarpaulins, newspapers, tables and chairs to quickly use them, and established a drainage channel while ensuring the safety of the power lines. after more than an hour of hard work, the danger in the computer room was successfully eliminated.

however, chen hao still did not dare to relax at all. he evacuated other staff on duty on the floor, took the initiative to lead the team to stay near the computer room, and organized the rescue team to patrol every half an hour to check for safety hazards. it was not until the typhoon left in the early morning that the computer room was finally out of danger.

on september 8, the typhoon passed through, and each base of haijiao suffered different damages. "the typhoon has passed, and the heavier tasks have just begun." chen hao said, and hurried to the bases to carry out disaster relief work.
