on september 6, at the opening ceremony of the 2024 guangdong universities outstanding hong kong and macao students leadership camp (hereinafter referred to as the "leadership camp") with the theme of "celebrating the national day and pursuing dreams in the greater bay area" held at jinan university in guangzhou, chen hongling from hong kong expressed her expectations for this event.
it is understood that more than 30 outstanding hong kong and macao college students from 11 universities in guangdong province will participate in this leadership camp.
this year marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the people's republic of china, the 25th anniversary of macao's return to the motherland, and the 27th anniversary of hong kong's return to the motherland. the reporter learned from the organizer of the event that the leadership camp was held around national day in the hope of witnessing, participating in and celebrating this important historical moment with outstanding hong kong and macao university student representatives, while gaining a deeper understanding of the mainland's economic and social development achievements, feeling the pulse of the times of the motherland's construction and national rejuvenation, and realizing their own life values by integrating into the overall national development and embracing the bright future of the greater bay area.
in order to enable the young people from hong kong and macao participating in the event to have a profound understanding of the general trend of national and world development and the goals and tasks of the new era and new journey, and to have an in-depth understanding of the history and culture of the motherland and the current national conditions, the organizers will organize students to go to kashgar, xinjiang for a 6-day "chinese-style modernization" national conditions investigation in addition to group study, special lectures, visits and exchanges in guangzhou, zhongshan, shenzhen, hong kong, macao and other places.
wang shanwei from macau said that this is the trip he is most looking forward to.
