meng fanhua, a distinguished professor at shenyang normal university, believes that the author has rediscovered the marginalized or even buried academy culture through the reading and research of a large number of classics and documents and the on-site investigation of academy sites. among them, the reinterpretation of the historical status and value of folk culture represented by academies is very modern and is of great benefit to understanding ancient scholars and modern intellectuals.
sun yu, a professor at the school of literature of renmin university of china, believes that the book emphasizes the important role of academies in educating people and folk customs in traditional time and space, and fully affirms the strong sense of "commitment" of the literati to social responsibility. the book's understanding of the different confucian traditions and the exploration of the critical thinking contained in the academy culture are also very creative.
this seminar is the second phase of the "literary beijing season-beijing writers 2024 quality research and promotion project", hosted by beijing federation of literary and art circles and beijing normal university, and co-organized by beijing writers association, beijing normal university school of literature, and beijing october literature and art publishing house.
