beijing, september 6 (xinhua) -- the fifth "talent performance season" of beijing performing arts group was launched on september 5. the performance season will last until october 15, with the theme of "new generation, new beijing color". it will be held in 7 theaters including nanluo theater, beijing concert hall, and chang'an grand theater. opera, folk music, folk art, puppetry, acrobatics, children's drama and other art categories will meet the audience.
2024 marks the 15th anniversary of the establishment of beijing performing arts group. over the past 15 years, the group has made unremitting efforts in the field of artistic creation, deeply cultivated originality, brought together 9 professional art troupes, covered 13 art categories, left behind many traditional classic works and excellent original works, and a large number of young and middle-aged artistic talents have grown vigorously.

this performance season is centered around the theme of "new generation, new beijing color", and has planned three major theme sections: "famous teachers, workshops", "inheritance, development", and "newcomers, new talents". it involves art categories such as opera, folk art, folk music, puppet shows, acrobatics, and children's plays. it is jointly created by art troupes such as the china acrobatic troupe, china pingju theater, china puppet art theater, beijing children's art theater, beijing quyi troupe, beijing national orchestra, beijing hebei bangzi troupe, and beijing quju troupe, bringing together more than a hundred outstanding artistic talents and famous artists, fully demonstrating the achievements of the inheritance and development of artistic talents in beijing's theaters and troupes.
the performance season highlights the new strength of beijing's performing arts. on september 5, a special performance of pingju opera "rhythm of pingju opera and fragrance of linfeng sheng" brought together young and middle-aged masters and newcomers from the china pingju opera theater was staged at chang'an grand theater, allowing the audience to experience the modern expression of pingju opera in its inheritance and development; on september 7, a special talent show "zhongling yuxiu" brought by the beijing quyi troupe will be staged at the national culture palace grand theater, showing the ingenuity inheritance of traditional art and the integrated development of sister arts.
classic ip will join hands with innovative stage. at a time when the chinese super ip "sun wukong" is sweeping the screen, the large-scale classic myth puppet show "true or fake sun wukong" will bring a different interpretation of "sun wukong" to the audience; beijing children's art theater selected "three character classic" as the source of creation in this performance season, and presented the chinese culture interactive children's play "three character classic" in a way that fits the aesthetics of the new era.
"a hundred plays and wonderful tours" is a "hundred plays road" built by the china acrobatic troupe, which showcases acrobatic works and appreciates chinese and foreign skills. the online live broadcast of "a hundred plays and wonderful tours" will reveal the wonderful acrobatics on and off the stage to the majority of online audiences; the special concert for doctoral students of the beijing national orchestra, "vigorous bobo", will be played in the beijing concert hall, bringing six folk music concertos of different styles to the audience.
during this performance season, beijing performing arts group and the chinese academy of traditional chinese opera have collaborated deeply for the first time, combining the "literary and art tour" with the group's talent performance season, incubating original stage works in the form of "drama workshops", and laying a solid foundation for talent development in the capital's performing arts industry.
the three opera troupes under the group, namely pingju, bangzi and quju, have cooperated with the department of drama of the chinese academy of traditional chinese opera to carry out the "school-enterprise joint special repertoire creation and talent training project", selecting outstanding works specially created by students of the department of drama for incubation, and guiding them in the form of workshops by teachers from the academy of traditional chinese opera throughout the process. they have launched three exclusively customized opera short plays, pingju "song of the fisherman and woodcutter", hebei bangzi "picture of xichuan" and beijing quju "the talentless one picking up gold", which empower artistic talents in all aspects and cultivate new talents and new works in multiple dimensions.
