beijing business daily (reporter lu yang, intern reporter wang manlei) on september 5, the publicity department of the beijing municipal committee (beijing municipal people's government information office) held a series of themed press conferences "celebrating the 75th anniversary of the founding of new china" - a special session for changping district.

ma chunxiu, deputy district head of changping district, said that in recent years, with the accelerated trend of population aging and the implementation of the three-child policy, people's demand for elderly care and childcare services, especially for "old people" and "young children", has been growing. changping district closely follows the work arrangements of the central and municipal governments, continuously makes up for shortcomings, increases supply, and improves services, and continuously enhances the sense of gain, happiness, and security of the elderly and infants.

specifically, in terms of elderly care service construction, changping district has continuously consolidated the "three-side and four-level" elderly care service system, steadily promoted the full coverage of community home-based elderly care services, and built a home and community elderly care service system with district-level elderly care service guidance center as the overall plan, town and street elderly care centers as the radiation, community elderly care service stations providing nearby services, institutional elderly care as the support, and medical and elderly care combined. the main work has been done in three aspects: building an elderly care service policy system, optimizing the supply of home and community elderly care services, and promoting the construction of elderly care service informatization. up to now, the district has built and operated 48 nursing homes, 18 town and street nursing care centers and 117 elderly meal assistance points, with a total of 17,564 institutional nursing beds, and provided more than 21,000 door-to-door services to more than 1,400 needy elderly people, completing the ministry of civil affairs' home and community basic elderly care service improvement project with high quality; a total of 487,944 registered elderly people have established archive data, 188,009 pieces of elderly meal assistance service data have been collected, and a total of 3,600 aging-friendly devices and 4,179 smart products have been deployed to achieve remote monitoring of various physiological indicators such as blood pressure and heart rate, with a focus on ensuring the safety of home-based care for the elderly, especially the "old and elderly".

in terms of childcare service construction, changping district has explored and created the "changping model" of infant-friendly childcare services that covers urban and rural areas, is universally accessible, and is safe and well-educated, with the goal of "convenient and accessible, affordable, and quality guaranteed". it has mainly done four aspects of work: improving the full-chain childcare service work mechanism, building a multi-level universal childcare service system, continuously improving the quality of childcare services, and strengthening safety supervision in the childcare industry. up to now, there are 70 childcare institutions of various types in the district, and the coverage rate of universal childcare institutions in towns and streets has reached 82%. a total of 5,072 childcare places can be provided in the district, of which 1,688 are universal childcare places, accounting for 33%. universal childcare institutions account for more than half of the district, and the number of universal childcare places has doubled compared to 2023, which has effectively alleviated the problems of difficulty, high cost, and long distance to childcare.

ma chunxiu pointed out that in the next step, changping district will focus on the "seven haves" requirements and "five qualities" needs, strengthen resource integration, innovate service models, and use practical actions to turn the "people's livelihood list" into the "happiness bill" of the people.
