a relevant person in charge of qianjiang water affairs said that this experiment used drones equipped with sar radar to detect abnormal conditions in the water supply network, and the locations were selected in open areas such as shengli street, gushan town and longshan town in the urban area.

specifically, by applying the large-scale full-polarization image data of the regional long-wave synthetic aperture radar, and processing it with filtering and noise reduction techniques, the dielectric constant information is extracted to analyze the soil moisture content, and then the suspected leakage points in the area are interpreted. this experiment found 5 suspected leakage points, which were subsequently manually reviewed and the uav detection experiment was effective.

at present, qianjiang waterworks' network inspection and leak detection are mainly done manually, which still has limitations in accuracy and efficiency. this time, the company innovatively introduced drone network leak detection technology, which helps to efficiently and fully inspect the water supply network and expand the screening scope of suspected leakage areas, saving manpower and greatly improving inspection efficiency.
