chinanews.com guangxi news, september 3 (lu qiuli) on september 2, the 5th regional security and counter-terrorism seminar was held in nanning, guangxi. nearly 50 experts and scholars from relevant universities and research institutions such as the university of malaya, minzu university of china, china people's public security university, northwest university of political science and law, university of international relations, guangxi university, guangxi police college, and guangxi university for nationalities attended the seminar.

lv junbiao, member of the standing committee of the party committee and vice president of guangxi university for nationalities, pointed out in his speech at the opening ceremony that guangxi is connected to asean countries by land and sea. while sharing regional economic prosperity, development, peace and stability, it is also increasingly facing threats from radicalism, extremism and terrorism. this seminar focuses on academic exchanges on counter-terrorism research between china and malaysia, which is of great significance.
at the seminar, chinese and malaysian scholars delivered keynote speeches respectively on "malaysia-china civilization relations: focusing on social culture and religion" and "several issues on religious extremism and terrorism".
it is reported that this seminar is hosted by the asean college/china-asean regional country research institute of guangxi university for nationalities and the china-asean regional security and counter-terrorism strategy research institute of guangxi university for nationalities, and co-organized by the asean research center of guangxi university for nationalities, the national and regional research base of the ministry of education, the asean national political culture and public governance research center of the state ethnic affairs commission, and the china-asean maritime security research center of guangxi university for nationalities.
