antitrust officials are concerned that nvidia is making it harder for customers to switch to other suppliers and putting buyers who don't use all of its artificial intelligence chips at a disadvantage, people familiar with the matter said.

regulators are asking whether nvidia offers preferential pricing and supply channels to customers who use only its products.

the justice department is also investigating nvidia’s acquisition of software startup run:ai, announced in april, amid concerns that the partnership would make it harder for customers to switch from nvidia chips because run:ai makes software for managing ai calculations.

nvidia closed down 9.53% on tuesday and fell nearly 2% after trading closed due to the news.
