hangzhou, september 4 (china news service) (bao mengni, zhang jiuding, xu zimu) according to state grid zhejiang electric power co., ltd. on september 3, the itu international standard "requirements and functional framework of intelligent inspection system based on cloud-edge-device collaboration in smart grids" jointly implemented by the company, zhijiang laboratory and other units was approved and completed, which means that china's newly formulated international standard in the field of internet of things has been added.

it is understood that the standard provides a comprehensive set of architectural requirements for cloud-edge device collaboration systems, and combines the respective advantages of cloud computing and edge computing to achieve interconnection between the cloud, edge and intelligent inspection equipment, and can reasonably and collaboratively allocate computing resources, storage resources and bandwidth resources.

cloud computing excels at global, non-real-time, long-cycle big data processing and analysis, and can play an advantage in business decisions such as long-cycle maintenance of intelligent inspections of power systems and fault diagnosis in complex scenarios; edge computing is more suitable for local, real-time, short-cycle data processing and analysis, and can better support intelligent decision-making and execution in simple scenarios with high real-time requirements.

at present, the rapid development of the power internet of things and the widespread access to distributed new energy have caused the data generated by massive terminal devices to show an exponential growth trend, posing a challenge to traditional cloud computing technology.

"cloud-edge collaboration technology can provide new ideas for power equipment communication by saving bandwidth, reducing latency, and protecting data privacy," said feng jun, executive deputy director of the zhejiang key laboratory of power equipment state perception and energy data intelligent application technology.

it is understood that through cloud-edge collaborative technology, the power system can process business data locally at substations, distribution stations and other sites. in addition to effectively avoiding fluctuations in the operation of power equipment caused by data transmission, data processing efficiency is also significantly improved.

taking intelligent visual inspection as an example, in changshan county, zhejiang province, intelligent inspection robots developed using this standard are being widely used in daily inspections of 110 kv substations.

compared with traditional remote monitoring cameras, this device can accurately record the data of voltmeters and ammeters through infrared cameras and visible light cameras, and complete image analysis and data processing directly on the local device based on cloud-edge device collaboration technology. finally, the analysis results are fed back to the user and server ends. there is no need to transmit a large amount of video data to a remote server for processing. this not only reduces a lot of network bandwidth, but also achieves "zero delay" in the entire process from device monitoring, data processing to event warning.

it is estimated that this technology can save an average of about 1.6t of video data transmission traffic for a 220 kv substation every day, which is equivalent to saving the transmission traffic of 100 high-definition movies. (end)
