the concert opened with the impassioned prelude of "ode to the red flag". the whole performance was divided into three chapters: national crisis, war of resistance, and victory. artists from the northern philharmonic orchestra, xinghai chorus, and tiantongyuan changyin chorus performed more than ten anti-japanese war-themed music works such as "yellow water ballad", "on the songhua river", "march of the big sword", "the beautiful mountains and rivers of the motherland will not give up an inch of land", and "on the taihang mountains", vividly reproducing the magnificent picture of the chinese people defending the motherland and tenaciously fighting against the invaders. the performance ended successfully with the chorus of "ode to the motherland".
