recently, the second phase of the cnooc jinwan "green energy port" project, the world's largest lng storage tank cluster with the largest single tank capacity, was completed, marking the completion of the largest lng storage and transportation base in south my country. after it is put into operation, the annual processing capacity of lng in jinwan "green energy port" will reach 7 million tons, greatly improving the natural gas supply guarantee capacity of the guangdong-hong kong-macao greater bay area and south china.
as the joint general contractor, cnooc petrochemical engineering is deeply involved in the design, construction services, commissioning, digital delivery and other work of the jinwan "green energy port" phase ii project. it uses its strong technical strength to overcome design difficulties, uses technological innovation to improve quality and reduce costs, and uses high-quality services to accelerate construction, contributing engineering and technical value to the smooth completion of the jinwan "green energy port" phase ii project.
overcoming design challenges
since june 2020, a design team of more than 110 people from cnooc petrochemical engineering has meticulously carried out preliminary and detailed design, and completed more than 3,000 version 0 design drawings, effectively ensuring procurement and construction progress requirements and providing technical support for the smooth progress of the project.
the second phase of the jinwan "green energy port" project is an expansion of the first phase. the first phase was designed by a foreign engineering company, and the design materials were all in english, which was difficult to digest. the cnooc petrochemical engineering design team interpreted the english design materials by consulting literature and consulting experts, and carried out the design based on a deep understanding and digestion of the original design concepts and intentions.
the original facilities of the phase i project are complex. the design team reviewed the connection between phases i and ii based on the current design specifications, confirmed the pipeline framework, stress, etc., and reinforced the equipment and facilities that did not meet the current design specifications to ensure that the new construction content fully matches the reserved content.
the design team fully considered the actual conditions of "production and construction at the same time", such as high safety requirements, tight operation time, and small construction space. they made ensuring the smooth operation of the first phase of the project the primary prerequisite and completed the design deployment in a limited space through compact layout and repeated adjustments.
innovation to improve quality and reduce costs
the design team continues to promote technological innovation and implements 31 design optimizations to save investment from the design source and improve the level of inherent safety.
designed the first domestic regasification module device, breaking the foreign monopoly and reducing the construction cost of the regasification module. relying on the project, carried out engineering technology research such as the impact of the increase in the inner diameter of the lng storage tank on the structural design of the storage tank, and the pre-cooling start-up technology research of the expansion project, obtained 4 invention patents, and the large/small flow seawater pump parallel operation water supply technology developed was authorized by china national offshore oil corporation's "three new three transformation" technology.
deepen the application of intelligent software to improve design efficiency and quality. the three achievements developed, namely the rapid generation program of stress analysis condition tables, the statistical tool of bracket materials for intelligent three-dimensional design software (smart 3d), and the smart 3d pipeline insulation property management tool, have obtained software copyrights. the first phase completion model was imported into smart 3d to create conditions for avoiding collisions and interference in the second phase design; based on the characteristics of the project, hexagon's digital intelligent pipeline stress analysis software was widely used. the digital design model results won the outstanding contribution award in the industry of the 2023 hexagon elite award competition.
high-quality service speeds up
the design team provided construction services at the project site to assist in construction and commissioning. in the hot and humid site, the design representatives frequently traveled between the central control room, the cabinet room in the tank area, the storage tanks and the device area, and checked the standardization of the construction and the consistency of the on-site installation with the design drawings with all participating units.
technical problems were promptly dealt with through on-site q&a and technical question sheet responses to ensure construction progress. in the instrument commissioning phase, the design representative directly communicated with the control system manufacturer to explain the design principles and intentions of the causal interlocking diagram, speeding up the configuration commissioning process and ensuring smooth delivery of the project machinery.
