the beijing traditional music festival adheres to the purpose of reviving national music culture, creating beijing's music culture masterpieces, and building an international traditional music culture exchange platform; it showcases the excellent traditional music of china and other ethnic groups in the world, the rich and colorful original forms of music and their development and innovation achievements; it explores the current situation and development strategies of traditional music in china and the world under the background of globalization; it teaches chinese traditional music; it promotes and realizes the establishment of a chinese national music education system by the china conservatory of music and the school-running policy of "based in beijing, serving beijing, facing the country, and going to the world".
during the beijing traditional music festival, a chinese national instrumental music exhibition will be held from september to november. the exhibition will include 10 chinese national instrumental music majors, including erhu, pipa, zhongruan, guzheng, guqin, yangqin, bamboo flute, suona, sheng, and chinese percussion. it is open to all domestic music colleges, art colleges, and secondary schools, universities, and graduate students majoring in instrumental music performance in comprehensive universities. free registration is available. the exhibition specially invited li xincao, president of the china conservatory of music, to serve as the chief artistic consultant, internationally renowned conductor ye cong to serve as the chairman of the art committee, han xin'an, yan huichang, and wu yuxia to serve as consultants to the art committee, and professor wang zhongshan, director of the chinese music department of the china conservatory of music, to serve as the chairman of the jury. hundreds of well-known chinese music performers, educators, composers, and conductors from domestic music colleges and art troupes will be invited to serve as review experts to authoritatively check.
according to the organizers, this exhibition will bring together high-quality academic resources, invite musicians from home and abroad to participate, open the school gates, and welcome outstanding young students to exchange and practice with the open and inclusive spirit of national music. this exhibition is open to the public. during the final review, academic lectures and forums in various forms will be held, and outstanding representatives of the exhibition will be invited to participate in the closing concert of the beijing traditional music festival in december. provide young music talents with a high-standard art display and practice platform, pursue innovation on the basis of upholding traditions, and gradually create a chinese traditional music culture brand with international influence.
