it home reported on september 3 that lucid, a new american car manufacturer, launched the 2025 lucid air pure electric sedan in july this year. it was rated as the "world's most efficient electric car" by the us environmental protection agency (epa) and can run 5 miles on 1 kilowatt-hour of electricity.

the 2025 lucid air pure electric sedan will be equipped with a heat pump and upgraded car system processor as standard, with a price starting at us$69,900 (it home note: currently about rmb 508,000):

lucid air pure: 420 miles (about 675.92 kilometers) epa range, starting at $69,900 (currently about rmb 508,000)

lucid air touring: 406 miles (about 653.39 kilometers) epa range, starting at $78,900 (currently about rmb 574,000)

lucid air grand touring: 512 miles (823.98 km) epa range, starting at $110,900 (currently about rmb 806,000)

in its latest video, automotive channel out of spec tests the heavier, more powerful 819-horsepower air grand touring, putting it through its paces in a standard 70-mph highway drive.

the lucid air gt lived up to its epa range estimate of more than 513 miles on a single charge of its 118-kwh battery, and when the battery was almost completely depleted at the side of the road, the car showed an efficiency of 4.3 miles/kwh.

by comparison, the 2024 tesla model s lr awd has an epa rating of 3.6 mpg on highway testing.

this is also the first time in the history of the out of spec 70 mph highway range test that an electric vehicle has broken the 500-mile range mark.
