this summer, zhejiang's total electricity consumption has remained high. the three major uhv dc transmission projects have been operating at high power for 30 consecutive days for the first time, and the total monthly power transmission has hit a record high. to ensure the safe transmission of external electricity, the state grid huzhou power supply company has created a "three-dimensional inspection + centralized monitoring" operation and maintenance model from the three dimensions of "air, land, and ground", increased the inspection of important transmission equipment, and made every effort to ensure the safe and stable transmission of energy during the peak summer period.

huzhou is one of the few important energy transmission channels in the country with a complete range of voltage levels, and is a strategic priority for the country's clean energy development. there are 12 uhv and cross-regional transmission lines of 1000 kv, 800 kv, and ±500 kv in the territory, with a total length of 924 kilometers, accounting for more than 40% of the total scale of zhejiang lines; the transmission capacity reaches 52.8 million kilowatts. among them, the "six-in-one" uhv ac and dc lines, starting from changxing in the west and ending in nanxun in the east, are 110 kilometers long, with a channel width of only 300 meters and a minimum spacing of 55 meters between adjacent line conductors, forming a "huzhou corridor". the lines in the corridor are long, the terrain is complex, there are many lines, narrow spacing, and large height differences, which bring great challenges to line operation and maintenance. relying on the "three-dimensional inspection + centralized monitoring" operation and maintenance model, state grid huzhou power supply company has created a three-dimensional inspection system of "air, space, and earth" to ensure all-round perception of the corridor, with no dead ends or blind spots in the inspection. the inspection rate reaches 100%, fully protecting the safe and stable operation of the transmission channel.

in the "air" dimension, satellite remote sensing technology is used to conduct real-time monitoring of uhv corridors and transmit images back in real time. staff can pay close attention to and detect the actual situation of the corridors, discover problems at the first moment and eliminate them in a timely manner.

in the "sky" dimension, in addition to using helicopters, drones and other technical means to accurately inspect the power lines, more than 8,400 sets of various sensing devices such as visualization and micro-meteorology are deployed in the transmission line channels, realizing the visualization of 500 kv and above transmission line channels and main tower visibility, and full coverage of autonomous drone inspections of 110 kv and above transmission lines.

in the dimension of "ground", manual inspection adopts a three-level line protection network. the first level has two professional teams of 20 people, who conduct inspections once a month; the second level has 38 line guards from power supply stations along the entire channel, who conduct line inspections once a week; the third level has 110 line protection teams, who conduct daily inspections at a frequency of once a day in plains, once every two days in hills, and once every three days in mountainous areas. at the same time, 10 standardized inspection stations were built along the channel to create a half-hour operation and maintenance guarantee circle for important transmission channels.

state grid huzhou power supply company is also actively exploring new technologies to improve the operation and maintenance capabilities of the large power grid. it independently developed and successfully tested an x-ray flaw detection robot suitable for four-split conductors, built a digital twin model of the huzhou corridor, and fully assisted in upgrading the new "air-ground-sky" uhv smart operation and inspection model, empowering the safe and stable operation of the entire energy corridor.

during the peak summer period this year, the maximum monthly power transmission of the uhv huzhou corridor reached 17.8 billion kwh. state grid huzhou power supply company dispatched 1,115 drones to inspect 1,230.28 kilometers of uhv huzhou corridor lines and 2,315 towers, dispatched 14,850 patrol personnel, discovered and dealt with more than 100 safety hazards in the huzhou corridor, and ensured the safe and stable supply of energy and electricity in all aspects.

in the future, the company will continue to explore the iterative upgrade path of the "three-dimensional inspection + centralized monitoring" intelligent operation and maintenance model, and the "air, space, and earth" trinity will work together to ensure the healthy operation of the energy artery.
