it is reported that the establishment of beijing adult rehabilitation training camp is an important way to implement the public welfare project of "reconstruction of life for severely physically disabled people in beijing". it provides services for first- and second-level certified physically disabled people who are registered in beijing and over 16 years old. the content includes learning the nursing knowledge of complications such as pressure sores and the selection of assistive devices; training wheelchair control skills, the use of assistive devices, home living skills and physical fitness; and actually experiencing barrier-free travel on the subway, barrier-free social environment of commercial facilities such as beijing universal studios and wanda plaza. according to the age and needs of the disabled people receiving training, the course can be optimized and adjusted at any time to learn current affairs policies, the latest barrier-free knowledge, how to use the beijing disabled persons' online service platform, smartphone usage skills and traditional chinese medicine knowledge. each training camp service lasts 120 hours.
in 2019, the "reconstruction of life for people with disabilities" public welfare project was listed as one of beijing's policy projects. as the first institution in the country to carry out reconstruction of life for people with disabilities, beijing new life elderly care and disability assistance service center has undertaken the implementation of the "beijing adult rehabilitation life reconstruction" public welfare project. as of may 2024, the project has provided services to nearly 400 disabled people with beijing household registration, supporting them to return to their families and society.
