for metal gear fans, metal gear solid delta: snake eater was the obvious next big thing to look forward to after the series' long hiatus, but questions about other potential projects never really fully died down. for example, fans have been waiting for metal gear solid 4: guns of the patriots to be released on modern platforms - or, for that matter, on any platform other than the ps3. interestingly, konami seems to be hinting that the wait may not last much longer.

konami producer noriaki okamura recently teased in an interview with ign that the second metal gear solid master collection might also include metal gear solid 4.

"we know this for mgs4 for sure," okamura said. "unfortunately, we can't reveal too much about metal gear solid: the master collection part 1 at this time. part 1 includes mgs 1-3... and more, and you can probably connect the dots!"

"we're still figuring out what to do with the series internally going forward, so unfortunately we can't reveal anything just yet. stay tuned!"

this isn't the first time the idea of metal gear solid 4 being included in a possible second installment has been floated. back in june last year, it was reported that metal gear solid 4 would be part of the next metal gear solid collection, along with the phantom pain and peace walker.

when talking about the next collection earlier this year, noriaki okamura said that its content has not yet been determined and asked everyone to be patient.

meanwhile, metal gear solid 3 remake is in development for ps5, xbox series x/s, and pc, with a currently unknown release date or window, but it looks like it will be announced later this year.
