reporters learned from the meeting that in march this year, the state council issued an action plan to promote large-scale equipment renewal and consumer goods replacement, and comprehensively deployed equipment renewal and consumer goods replacement. beijing has organized and implemented a number of equipment renewal and transformation projects in the fields of infrastructure, education and medical services, industrial development, recycling, etc., which has driven the city's equipment purchase investment to grow by 32.9% year-on-year in the first half of the year.
in the latest implementation plan, in addition to requiring the continued promotion of equipment updates in rail transit, heating, natural gas, etc., and accelerating the renewal of vehicles with national iv and below emission standards and public buses registered in the city, it also specifically requires the acceleration of equipment updates in the field of old elevators.
lai xianyu, deputy director of the beijing development and reform commission, also mentioned that the implementation plan is closely linked to national policies and has increased support for green and low-carbon transformation projects in key industries, including equipment renewal in the field of old elevators. this is also one of the highlights of this "intensified" policy.
in fact, as a megacity, beijing has many high-rise residential buildings that were built relatively early, so the stock of old elevators in beijing's residential buildings is relatively large. in recent years, the contradiction between the use of these residential elevators and the safety, convenience, and comfort needs of the general public has become increasingly prominent.
lai xianyu introduced that in order to do a good job in the renovation of residential elevators in 2024, the municipal housing and urban-rural development committee and the municipal market supervision bureau have recently applied for a number of key old elevator renovation projects in conjunction with relevant districts based on the application organized by various districts. in the future, key support will be given to the renovation of residential elevators that have been registered for use, have a long service life, low configuration level, high operating failure rate, and strong public willingness for renovation. the first batch of projects involves about 1,000 old elevators. "at present, the first batch of projects have been reported to the relevant national departments. in the future, beijing will organize the application for renovation and renovation of old elevators in batches on the basis of further understanding the bottom line."
