IT Home reported on August 27 that Kingston launched the USB 3.2 Gen 2 mobile solid-state drive XS1000R yesterday local time, with optional storage capacities of 1TB and 2TB.

The XS1000R is a color-changing version of the original all-black XS1000. Keith Schimmenti, SSD business manager at Kingston, said the XS1000R provides a new option for customers who want to stand out and express themselves through color.

The XS1000R mobile solid-state drive has a dimension of 69.54×32.58×13.5 (mm), weighs 28.7g, is equipped with 3D NAND flash memory, and supports a sequential read rate of 1050MB/s and a sequential write rate of 1000MB/s.

The XS1000R supports an operating temperature of 0°C to +40°C and a storage temperature of -20°C to 85°C, and comes with a 12-inch (IT Home Note: approximately 30.48 cm) long USB CtoA data cable and USB AtoC adapter. Kingston provides a 5-year limited warranty for it.
