IT Home reported on August 26 that at the Hongmeng Intelligent Driving new product launch conference this afternoon, the new M7 Pro was officially launched, and the price will be announced later. The car has been pre-sold before, with a pre-sale price starting at 249,800 yuan.

In his speech at the press conference, Yu Chengdong, Huawei's executive director, chairman of the Terminal BG, and chairman of the Intelligent Automotive Solutions BU, talked about the cost of vehicles again, saying that the lowest-equipped Wenjie Xin M7 Pro with a pre-sale price of 249,800 yuan would result in a loss of more than 20,000 yuan and nearly 30,000 yuan per unit.

IT Home noted that this is not the first time that Yu Chengdong has said that the cost of Hongmeng Intelligent Driving models is high. In April this year, he wrote: "We have invested a lot in research and development of intelligent driving technology. Huawei's high-end intelligent driving models priced below 300,000 yuan are actually sold at a loss."

At the 2024 China Automobile Blue Book Forum in June this year, Yu Chengdong revealed that Hongmeng Zhixing's models below 300,000 yuan are basically losing money, but fortunately, high-end products account for more than 80%. Hongmeng Zhixing's sales from January 1 to June 9 this year were 159,100 vehicles, and the average sales price was close to 400,000 yuan (more than 390,000 yuan). People are more willing to choose high-end versions, so Huawei and its partner car companies can still make a profit.

When talking about low-cost cars, Yu Chengdong said that he is not considering launching cars below 200,000 yuan for the time being because he does not have the ability to achieve a cost below 200,000 yuan for the time being.

The new M7 Pro is equipped with Huawei ADS basic version, supports NCA intelligent driving pilot assistance (covering national highways and urban express sections), AEB active safety and intelligent parking assistance. The car is 5020 x 1945 x 1760 mm long, wide and high, with a wheelbase of 2820 mm. It is a plug-in extended-range hybrid model.
