IT Home Note: Xiangshan uses lakes to name each generation of architecture - the first generation architecture is Yanqi Lake, the second generation architecture is Nanhu Lake, and the third generation architecture is Kunming Lake.

The second-generation "Xiangshan" processor (Nanhu architecture) supports the RV64GCBK instruction set. The V1 version is for dual-core scenarios. The RTL code freeze was completed in February 2023, the GDSII freeze was completed in June 2023, and it was put into production in November 2023. The frequency reached 2GHz at the 14nm process node. The Nanhu V2 version includes improved designs such as MBIST. The RTL code freeze was completed in February 2023, and it was put into production in April 2023. It was returned in October 2023 and successfully lit up and started Linux.

On August 24, 2022, the Institute of Computing Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing Open Source Chip Research Institute, Tencent, Alibaba, ZTE, ThunderSoft, Eswi, and Suanneng formed a joint R&D team to carry out the joint development of the third-generation Xiangshan (Kunming Lake architecture).

At the opening ceremony of the 2024 Zhongguancun Forum Annual Conference in April this year, the third-generation "Xiangshan" RISC-V open source high-performance processor core was unveiled, and its performance entered the first echelon in the world.
