IT Home reported on August 26 that Alibaba Damo Academy Xuantie released a new RISC-V processor design R908 at the 2024 RISC-V China Summit on the 21st of this month. This is a high-performance, high-reliability real-time processing processor IP product.

Xuantie said that R908 adopts 64-bit design, is fully compatible with RVA22 profile and RVA vector extension, has higher reliability, and is designed for high-end industrial control, storage control, communication computing, and automotive applications.

Xuantie R908 adopts RISC-V 64GCB [V][H] architecture, supports homogeneous multi-core and multi-cluster, with each cluster having up to 8 cores. It adopts 9-stage dual-issue in-order pipeline design, and the floating point unit supports BF16, FP16, and FP32 data structures. For the specific design, please refer to the following figure attached to IT Home:

Xuantie also announced the next-generation flagship high-performance RISC-V processor C930, which is expected to be released at the end of the year:

C930 is a 15-stage out-of-order superscalar pipeline design with 6 decoding widths and 10+ transmission widths. It supports a 512-bit vector engine and can reach 15 points per GHz on SpecINT2006, which reflects the CPU integer IPC. It is suitable for PCs, edge servers, cloud computing, autonomous driving and other scenarios.
