On August 23, the “Consuls in Qingdao Chengyang Tour” event was successfully held. Japanese Consul General in Qingdao Kenji Saito, South Korean Consul General in Qingdao Changxiu Liu and Thai Deputy Consul General in Qingdao Qingqing attended the event and visited two high-tech enterprises, Fengshi (Qingdao) Marine Technology and Qingdao Haier Biomedical, respectively. They witnessed the theme promotion and exchange meeting and project signing ceremony of Chengyang District, experienced representative projects of Chengyang District’s intangible cultural heritage on site, tasted high-quality products of Chengyang local enterprises, and conducted in-depth exchanges on deepening pragmatic cooperation between Japan, South Korea, Thailand and Chengyang District in the fields of industrial development, economic and trade investment, and humanities and technology.
Yin Liangang, deputy secretary of the Chengyang District Committee and district head, and Song Tiantian, deputy district head of Chengyang District, respectively introduced the history, culture, and economic and social development of Chengyang District. Chengyang District was established on openness and prospered on openness. The connotation of "openness" is deeply rooted in Chengyang's historical genes and has always been the greatest advantage and strong confidence of Chengyang District. In the 30 years since the establishment of Chengyang District, relying on the advantages of regional openness, it has formed a strong industrial foundation and has become the most important investment destination and trade cooperation place for Japanese, Korean, and Thai companies in Qingdao. At the same time, as Qingdao's new main urban area, it focuses on the three core industries of rail transit, integrated circuits, and energy storage, and advances the layout of future industries in the low-altitude economy, with broad development prospects and huge potential. In terms of the business environment, Chengyang District actively creates a more "humane" business environment, allowing Japanese, Korean, and Thai friends who come to Chengyang District to personally feel the full sincerity and open opportunities of Chengyang, a vibrant city in the Bay Area. Chengyang hopes to take this event as an opportunity, leveraging the channels and resource advantages of the Consulate General in Qingdao, to further deepen all-round and multi-field exchanges between Chengyang and Japan, South Korea, Thailand in the areas of economy, trade, science and technology, humanities, etc., and write a new chapter of cooperation.
Fan Qizhi, director of the Qingdao Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, said that since the establishment of the Consulates General of South Korea, Japan and Thailand in Qingdao, they have attached great importance to promoting pragmatic cooperation with Qingdao in the fields of economy and trade, and have made positive contributions to the economic and social development of Qingdao and the improvement of its internationalization level. As one of the series of activities of "Consuls in Qingdao to Districts and Cities" jointly discussed and organized by the Qingdao Municipal Foreign Affairs Office and the three consulates general, the "Consuls in Qingdao Chengyang Tour" activity will actively help Chengyang District and the Consulates General in Qingdao to build an exchange and cooperation platform, which is of great significance for enhancing mutual friendship and deepening mutually beneficial cooperation. High-level opening up and high-quality investment promotion are the key tasks of Shandong Province and Qingdao this year. It also coincides with the anniversary celebration of the establishment of the three consulates general. In the next step, the Qingdao Municipal Foreign Affairs Office and the Chengyang District Government will work with the three consulates general to focus on the second half of the "Consuls in Qingdao Chengyang Tour", effectively promote precise cooperation, and actively promote fruitful results.
