Crossing thousands of miles, to fulfill the promise of mountains and seas; carrying dreams, setting sail from Shanshang. On August 24 and 25, more than 5,400 new 2024 graduate students and undergraduate students from 29 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) across the country gathered on the shore of the Yellow Sea and at the foot of Phoenix Mountain, dreaming of Shanshang and soaring in the wind.
The school attaches great importance to the work of welcoming new students. During the process, all departments coordinated and cooperated closely. With a high sense of responsibility and a rigorous, meticulous and fast work style, they carried out "one-picture" process guidance, "one-to-one" volunteer service, "one-stop" green channel, and "one-bag" material distribution, providing comprehensive guarantees and warm services for the new student orientation work, leaving the new students and their parents with a beautiful and profound "first experience of Shanshang".
Each secondary college, in light of its disciplinary and professional characteristics, promoted and displayed the college's development history, professional prospects, faculty, scientific research achievements, outstanding alumni, competition results and other information. Through story sessions for new students, fun photo-taking and signature walls, and writing "A Letter to Myself Four Years Later", a unique "Freshman Welcome Feast" was carefully prepared, creating an orderly, warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The school leaders had cordial conversations with the freshmen and their parents, learned about the parents’ opinions and suggestions on enrollment, and encouraged the freshmen to pursue the light and follow the light at Shanshang, work hard, and take a solid step at the new starting point.
In the next step, the school will carry out a series of admission education activities such as military training, opening ceremony, "first lesson of the new semester", professional introduction meetings, library education, theme class meetings, as well as fire drills, anti-telecom fraud, college student psychological census guidance and other safety education and school rules and regulations learning and testing, to help freshmen understand and adapt to university study and life as soon as possible and start a new chapter in their lives.
