To commemorate the 120th anniversary of Comrade Deng Xiaoping's birth and express deep remembrance and high respect for Comrade Deng Xiaoping, the film "Deng Xiaoping Trail", jointly produced by the four provinces of Jiangxi, Guangdong, Jiangsu and Sichuan, will be re-screened in theaters across the country from August 22, and will be broadcast on the CCTV Movie Channel (CCTV-6) during prime time that evening.
"Deng Xiaoping Trail" vividly reproduces Deng Xiaoping's experience of working in the Xinjian Tractor Repair Factory in Jiangxi from 1969 to 1973. During this period, he walked along a trail to the factory every day to work. Through contact with the grassroots masses, he felt the suffering of the people and realized the simple truth that "poverty is not socialism" and "no matter what, letting the people live a good life is the fundamental thing." The film tells about human feelings, human nature, human taste, and humanity, with a high concentration of emotions. Through a large number of life details, it delicately portrays Deng Xiaoping as an old father, old worker, old party member, and old farmer on the screen. His perseverance and optimism, and his feelings for the people are all moving.
"Deng Xiaoping Trail" is directed by Wang Xingdong as artistic producer and screenwriter, Lei Xianhe as chief director, Lu Qi as co-director, Lu Qi and Yu Hui as leading actors, Liu Jintian as historical consultant, Zhang Zhizhong as producer, Zhang Yong as chief producer, and Huang Ping as producer. The film has received rave reviews since its nationwide preview in October 2021 and nationwide release in April 2022, triggering empathy from the audience. According to incomplete statistics, the film has won 9 important domestic awards so far and 9 awards at overseas film festivals. In 2023, "Deng Xiaoping Trail" won the "Excellent Feature Film" at the 19th China Film Huabiao Awards.
