Chinese scientists discover new method for lunar soil to produce large amounts of water
After three years of in-depth research and repeated verification, the scientific research team of the Chinese Academy of Sciences made new discoveries from the Chang'e-5 lunar soil and found a new method to produce large amounts of water using lunar soil.
After a large number of experiments, the research team found that the lunar soil minerals have stored a large amount of hydrogen due to billions of years of radiation from the solar wind. After heating, hydrogen reacts chemically with the iron oxides in the minerals to produce elemental iron and a large amount of water. When the temperature rises to above 1000°C, the lunar soil will melt, and the water generated by the reaction can be released in the form of water vapor. One ton of lunar soil will produce about 51-76 kilograms of water, equivalent to more than 100 bottles of 500 ml bottled water. At present, the research team is designing verification plans and equipment, and it is expected that the relevant experiments will be carried out on the moon with Chang'e 8 at the earliest, which is expected to provide multi-faceted support for the construction of future lunar scientific research stations and deep space exploration.
"Numbers" show that my country's consumption grew steadily in July
In July, commercial authorities at all levels stepped up efforts to promote the replacement of old consumer goods with new ones, promote high-quality development of service consumption, and promote steady growth in consumption. The total retail sales of consumer goods in that month was 3.78 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 2.7%.
In terms of commodity consumption, in July, the retail sales of goods reached 3.34 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 2.7%, 1.2 percentage points faster than the previous month. The sales of some upgraded goods accelerated, and the retail sales of sports and entertainment products and communication equipment of units above the designated size increased by 10.7% and 12.7% year-on-year, respectively, 12.2 and 9.8 percentage points faster than the previous month. The effect of the old-for-new policy continued to emerge. In July, the retail sales of new energy passenger vehicles increased by 36.9% year-on-year.
In terms of service consumption, from January to July, service retail sales increased by 7.2% year-on-year, 4.1 percentage points faster than the retail sales of goods in the same period. Among them, catering revenue was 3.06 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.1%; the retail sales of transportation services and communication information services maintained double-digit growth.
At the same time, online consumption has shown a good growth trend. From January to July, online retail sales of physical goods increased by 8.7% year-on-year, accounting for 25.6% of total retail sales. In July, my country's express delivery business volume reached 14.26 billion pieces, a year-on-year increase of 22.2%.
In addition, the growth rate in rural areas is faster than that in urban areas. In July, the retail sales of consumer goods in rural areas reached 506.6 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.6%, 2.2 percentage points faster than the retail sales of consumer goods in urban areas. From January to July, the retail sales of consumer goods in rural areas reached 3.65 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.5%, 1.1 percentage points faster than the retail sales of consumer goods in urban areas.
In July, the total electricity consumption increased by 5.7% year-on-year
The National Energy Administration announced on August 22 that in July, the national electricity consumption was 939.6 billion kWh, a year-on-year increase of 5.7%. The electricity consumption of the primary industry, secondary industry, tertiary industry and residents increased by 1.5%, 5.0%, 7.8% and 5.9% year-on-year respectively.
