On August 23, the 5G-A commercial launch conference with the theme of "Enjoy 5G-A Intelligently and Lead the New Beijing Color" was successfully held at the Four Seasons Hotel Beijing. The conference was hosted by China Mobile Beijing Company (Beijing Mobile) and launched a number of scenario-based products to meet the diverse needs of different user groups. The conference brought together government leaders, industry leaders, experts and scholars, and partners to witness the commercial launch of 5G-A technology in the capital Beijing.
Li Qiang, general manager of Beijing Mobile, said that as one of the "first 100 5G-A commercial pilot cities of China Mobile", Beijing Mobile has steadily promoted the construction and deployment of 5G-A networks, actively carried out 5G-A commercial service pilots, and actively built a high-speed, ubiquitous and intelligent 5G-A new network. Through the "5G-A Lights Up Beijing" campaign, 18 super hot spots such as Chang'an Avenue, Financial Street, Capital Airport, Olympic Center and major roads such as the Second, Third and Fourth Ring Roads in Beijing have been "lit up with 5G-A capabilities". So far, Beijing Mobile has opened more than 7,000 5G-A base stations, achieving universal coverage within the Sixth Ring Road and suburban counties, with a downlink peak rate of up to 5Gbps, which is five times higher than the 5G network.
At this press conference, Beijing Mobile launched a variety of products for mass customers, including 5G-A venue packages, business travel packages, game packages, and live broadcast packages, which can provide ultra-high speeds of up to 3Gbps downlink and 200Mbps uplink, providing users with a brand new communication service experience. In the case of 5G-A network, users will have clearer picture quality when using new calls, up to 2k quality, and can play large games on the same screen while making calls without lag. At present, Beijing Mobile has launched the Fresh Enjoyment Plan. From now until the end of 2024, customers can experience exclusive scenario package products through the China Mobile APP.
According to the reporter, mobile phone terminals that support 5G-A networks are becoming increasingly abundant. Currently, more than 10 terminals including vivo, OPPO, Honor and Xiaomi already support 5G-A networks.
At the event, Yang Qian, the champion of the women's 10m air rifle shooting and the 10m air rifle mixed team championship at the Tokyo Olympics, also made a grand appearance. As a loyal user of China Mobile, Yang Qian was awarded the title of "Beijing Mobile 5G-A Commercial Network Exclusive Experience Officer" this time.
In order to promote the faster maturity and development of the 5G-A industry chain and combine the resource advantages of industry, academia and research to accelerate the implementation of 5G-A innovative applications, Beijing Mobile joined hands with various industry partners at the press conference to establish the Beijing Mobile 5G-A Industry Alliance, aiming to create 5G-A solutions and benchmark projects with the characteristics of the capital, and work together to promote Beijing to become a benchmark city for the global digital economy.
