Chasing their Olympic dreams in Paris, the athletes returned to their hometown in Yunnan.
On August 23, Provincial Party Committee Secretary Wang Ning, Provincial Party Committee Deputy Secretary and Governor Wang Yubo, Provincial CPPCC Chairman Liu Xiaokai and other provincial leaders met in Kunming with Yunnan athletes, coaches, scientific research and teaching staff and representatives of award-winning units participating in the 33rd Summer Olympic Games. They jointly studied the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech when he met with the Chinese sports delegation. On behalf of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People’s Congress Standing Committee, the Provincial Government, the Provincial CPPCC and the people of their hometown, they congratulated the athletes on their triumphant return, thanked them for bringing glory to the motherland and adding color to Yunnan, and expressed their condolences to the vast number of athletes, coaches and sports workers in the province.

At the meeting, Wang Yubo read out the notice of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government on rewards for athletes and their coaches, scientific research and teaching staff and relevant units participating in the 33rd Summer Olympic Games in our province.

two,Eleven athletes and coaches including Zhang Jun, Zhang Deshun, Lü Xianjing, Chen Yule, Wu Zhifan, Yang Shaohui, Tang Xin, Cui Lihong, Fan Jiwen, Zhang Guowei and Chen Helin were awarded merit awards.

In this Olympic Games, 9 athletes and 2 coaches from our province were selected for the Chinese sports delegation. They participated in 12 events in 3 major sports, won 1 gold medal and 1 10th place. The results in each event have improved compared with the previous Olympic Games.

"I have waited for this opportunity for three years. Finally, I can raise the national flag and sing the national anthem loudly at the Paris Olympics." Liu Hao was full of emotion at the commendation meeting. He recalled the last Tokyo Olympics, when he won two silver medals. "I stood on the podium and raised the five-star red flag, but unfortunately, the national anthem was not played."
After three years of dormancy, Liu Hao finally won a great result at the Paris Olympics. He and his partner Ji Bowen won the gold medal in the men's double kayak 500-meter flat water canoeing event. This is Yunnan's second Olympic gold medal after the London Olympics, and it is also Yunnan's first Olympic gold medal in a non-team event. Liu Hao expressed his gratitude to the provincial party committee and government for their support and help for Yunnan's sports projects.
Three days ago, General Secretary Xi Jinping met with all members of the Chinese sports delegation to the 33rd Summer Olympic Games at the Great Hall of the People. At that time, Liu Hao stood in the first row. He said affectionately: "The national pride in my heart was instantly ignited, and I was deeply inspired."
Liu Hao said that he would start from scratch, guard against arrogance and impatience, keep working hard, and transform the General Secretary's caring care into a powerful driving force for progress; at the same time, he would play his own positive role to drive the overall improvement of Chinese canoeing and even other competitive events.

In his first race in the Paris Olympics, Lv Xianjing went alone and finished the men's individual road cycling race in 6 hours, 39 minutes and 27 seconds, ranking 68th. He dared to challenge himself, break through himself, and was not afraid of strong opponents. In the absence of tactical coordination, he fought alone and became the first Chinese rider to finish the Olympic group race again after 32 years.
"In this race, I rode a 'Made-in-China' bicycle to compete with the world's top professional riders in the Olympic arena. Although the 273-kilometer track, the longest and most difficult in history, was full of challenges, it also showed the world China's image, China's strength, and the Chinese spirit of the new era. I feel very proud and honored." Lu Xianjing said at the commendation meeting.
After leaving the competition venue, everything will start from scratch. Lv Xianjing said that he will go all out in preparation for the 15th National Games, focusing on scientific training, optimizing training methods, improving training efficiency, and being ready to meet challenges. He also hopes that he can become a role model for more young athletes, help them grow, inspire their love for sports, and pass on the spirit of sports.

The Paris Olympics was Zhang Deshun's second Olympic Games. This time, she finished the race in 2 hours, 36 minutes and 47 seconds, 58 seconds faster than the Tokyo Olympics, achieving another personal breakthrough in the Olympic arena.
At the commendation meeting, Zhang Deshun sincerely recounted his 11 years with the marathon event, and firmly said that he would always remember his original intention and mission in sports and shoulder his responsibilities.
She said that today's competitive marathon events have become a huge engine leading and driving the vigorous development of national fitness marathon sports activities. The young generation of Yunnan athletes must also shoulder the heavy responsibility of building a sports power and a province with plateau sports characteristics, further strengthen their belief in winning glory for the country, strengthen their conviction to be tempered into steel, improve their ability to strive for victory, boost their fighting spirit to become stronger when facing stronger opponents, and devote themselves wholeheartedly to training and preparation for competitions.
"I firmly believe that every drop of sweat I expend will shine and condense into a beacon that motivates me to move forward." Zhang Deshun said that in the future, she will practice her original oath to bring glory to the motherland and hometown in her sports life of tenacious struggle and courageous climbing to the top, and write a brilliant chapter of her life of unremitting struggle.
At the scene, Zhang Guowei, head coach of the middle and long distance running project of Chenggong Sports Training Base of Yunnan Province, and Chen Helin, head coach of the race walking project of Chenggong Sports Training Base of Yunnan Province, shared their experiences and feelings as grassroots coaches.
In the Olympic arena, Yunnan athletes always kept the motherland in mind and strived to be the best. They showed their level and style. The coaches and staff provided meticulous support and made silent contributions. Everyone worked together in unity and achieved great results in both sports and spiritual civilization, showing the spiritual outlook of Chinese and Yunnan youth to the world.
At the commendation meeting, Wang Ning said that General Secretary Xi Jinping cordially received the Chinese sports delegation and delivered an important speech, which pointed out the direction for promoting sports in the new era. We must study and understand it in depth and implement it conscientiously. We must vigorously promote the Chinese sports spirit and the Olympic spirit, train hard and scientifically, continue to prepare for the competition, climb to the top and create better results.
