The Volkswagen Inspiration Design Space Tour exhibited the ID. CODE concept car, highlighting Volkswagen's new Chinese DNA; a number of pure electric ID. family models and Volkswagen's best-selling fuel models also made their debut at the event.
During the Beijing stop, visitors can immersively experience and explore Volkswagen's current and future smart models. The ID. CODE concept car, which debuted at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show, allows consumers to experience Volkswagen's new Chinese DNA up close. As the key to Volkswagen's commitment to China, this concept car fully embodies Volkswagen's product vision and concept in the era of intelligent networking.
The ID. CODE concept car looks very avant-garde and elegant, and its exterior design cleverly combines classics with fashion. For example, the "strong" wheel arches of the front and rear wheels are inspired by the well-known Volkswagen Beetle, while the high sides and low middle of the front engine cover are typical of the yacht-style design style.
The Wide-R curved display screen that spans the width of the car can present realistic 3D scenes, and the window widget can also display information such as weather forecast, battery status and navigation map. The four independent first-class seats can be rotated and adjusted according to different driving modes. For example, in L4 autonomous driving mode, the steering wheel will automatically retract, and the front seats can be rotated 180 degrees to the sleeping position, creating a comfortable rest space for long-distance travel.
Stefan Mecha, CEO of Volkswagen Passenger Cars China, said: "ID. CODE not only decodes Volkswagen's vision of future travel, but also truly embodies the new DNA we have created for China - equipped with rich intelligent connected functions and adopting a new design language. This concept car is another proof of our implementation of the 'In China, for China' strategy. The positive feedback from Chinese consumers also shows that Volkswagen's new Chinese DNA has injected more power into the brand's future travel."
Jochen Sengpiehl, Chief Marketing Officer of Volkswagen China, said: "Volkswagen is renowned worldwide for its many classic models, and design has always been one of our core brand values. Through the ID. CODE concept car, Volkswagen presents future design and technology that is within reach. This tour provides an immersive brand experience, allowing visitors to experience our new DNA tailored for the Chinese market."
