On August 22, Beijing time, Chinese-American table tennis star Kai Konishi was arrested in August on suspicion of molesting and touching the body of a student's mother. Japanese media also revealed some details of the incident.

Konishi Kaiwei has changed his name twice. His original name was Song Haiwei and Yoshida Kaiwei. He is 43 years old this year. He became a Japanese citizen in 2004. He won consecutive championships in the All Japan Championships in 2004 and 2005. Later, he won the runner-up in the men's team of the 2007 Asian Championships, the third place in the men's team of the 2008 World Table Tennis Championships, the third place in the men's team of the 2010 World Table Tennis Championships, the third place in the men's singles of the 2011 Asian Cup, and the third place in the men's singles of the 2012 Asian Table Tennis Championships, etc.

After 2012, Konishi Kaiwei faded out of the international arena and began to focus on the league and transformed into a coach. He previously served as a coach in a table tennis school in Toda City, Saitama Prefecture, Japan, which was run by Konishi's wife.

According to Japanese media reports, on the afternoon of August 7, while the children were exercising outside, Konishi Kaiwei called the mother of a student and asked seductively: "Can you come visit now?"

When the mother, who was in her 40s, arrived, Xiaoxi performed indecent acts on her by touching her body for 22 minutes from around 5:05 pm to 5:27 pm, under the guise of table tennis instruction and massage.

During the investigation, the suspect Xiaoxi Haiwei confessed that he "touched his mother's body as a massage", but denied the intention of molesting her. Currently, the incident is still under further investigation.
