Huang Kunzhong, chairman of the Chinese Wushu Association of Taiwan, said in his speech at the opening ceremony that Taiwanese martial arts originated from the mainland, and most of Taiwan's southern boxing was introduced from Fujian. The traditional martial arts culture in Fujian and Taiwan is particularly closely related. "We hope that the two sides will continue to promote Chinese martial arts culture, deepen cooperation, and enhance understanding and compatriot friendship through martial arts master training activities."

The atmosphere of the event was lively and exciting that night. Among them, Zhang Gaosheng and Wu Qiaoling from the Taiwan Shitouwang Folk Art Development Association brought a wonderful performance of "Five Ancestors Boxing", and their superb martial arts won applause from the audience.

Wu Qiaoling, 21 years old this year, has visited Zhangzhou many times to exchange and learn from each other in martial arts, and witnessed the lively exchanges between martial arts on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. She said that she met many like-minded friends through martial arts exchanges. The common culture of Fujian and Taiwan and the fact that they speak the same Minnan dialect made her feel very cordial and familiar during the exchanges. "I look forward to more exchanges in martial arts between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait, because we can learn from each other and make progress, and enhance the friendship between the two sides," said Wu Qiaoling.

"I'm very happy because I saw the culture passed down by the older generation of Taiwan in Zhangzhou. I learned a lot here." said Zhang Gaosheng, who came to Zhangzhou for the second time for exchange.

According to the organizers, the number of Taiwanese martial arts enthusiasts attending this conference is the highest in history, and more than 60% of them are young people. This is the conference with the largest number of Taiwanese youth participants, which demonstrates the deep appeal of cross-strait martial arts exchanges. The event further promotes cross-strait cultural exchanges and cooperation, and enhances the spiritual harmony between compatriots on both sides of the strait.

Longwen District, Zhangzhou's traditional "hometown of martial arts", has close exchanges with Taiwan's martial arts community. In 2007, it hosted the first Cross-Strait Chinese Martial Arts Master Training Event, and has successfully held 16 sessions so far, building a bridge for compatriots on both sides of the strait to make friends, visit relatives, and trace their roots through martial arts, leaving behind many good stories.

"Martial arts is a precious treasure shared by both sides of the Taiwan Strait. Wushu in Longwen District has a broad mass base. I hope that martial arts enthusiasts on both sides of the Taiwan Strait can enhance their understanding and increase trust through martial arts." Zheng Xuxu, vice president of the Fujian Wushu Association, said in his speech.

The event will last for two days. On the 22nd, a symposium on martial arts exchanges between Zhangzhou and Taiwan will be held to discuss and exchange ideas on the inheritance and development of Chinese martial arts, the prospects for cross-strait martial arts exchanges and cooperation, and jointly promote the inheritance and development of Chinese martial arts.
