A 33-year-old guy from Chongqing posted a photo of himself living alone and it went viral: his 68 square meters is filled with useless things, he is not married, has no children, and is not lonely

Before he knew it, Dongdongdongda is already 33 years old. This year is his third year living alone.

When he just graduated from college, he rented a house outside. It was only in the first two years that he moved into his own house and started living alone.

He thought he would be lonely living there, but after he actually lived alone, he found out that—

This small home of 68 square meters is his closest companion.

During the days of living alone, Dongdongdongda is more awake than ever before.

He constantly explores how he gets along with his family, constantly discovers his own style, and pays attention to what he likes. The dull life day after day becomes more colorful and optimistic because of living alone.

Warm cherry wood furniture, thriving green plants, cute and adorable little ornaments...everything he sees is something he likes.

A friend came to visit Dongdongdongda and complained:

"Your house is getting crazier and crazier! There are rabbit tissue boxes, alien potted carpets, pink pigs, green dogs, and now black rabbits. Can you have something more normal?"

But in Dongdongdongda’s own eyes, his house and the various bits and pieces of decoration in it couldn’t be cuter.

No one has stipulated how men in their 30s should live.

As for lifestyle, Dongdongdongda also has its own standards:

I hate housework and don’t want to waste time on repetitive things; I like simplicity, conciseness and cleanliness, which will make the home more comfortable; I enjoy freedom, going barefoot or sitting on the floor, whatever makes me comfortable.

His daily work has made him nervous and physically and mentally exhausted.

Only when he returns home, enjoying the fan, listening to music and watching the sunset outside the window can he feel what life is.

The public area consists of three parts: dining room, living room and balcony.

Here, only a circle of suspended ceiling is made in the living room area, which makes the floor appear higher visually.

The floor is covered with laminate flooring. Although its thermal conductivity is worse than that of tiles, Dongdongdongda lives in Chongqing and only uses floor heating for 3 months a year. Therefore, laying wooden flooring is more comfortable, warmer and more beautiful.

The main light in the living room area is a rectangular ceiling lamp with rounded corners, which is simple and soft.

The materials and colors of the furniture are of the same style, and almost all the walls of the house are painted in light gray, which looks grand and integrated.

Only the sofa background wall was chosen in the dark blue that Dongdongdongda likes the most.

Some other objects in the house are also dark blue, which perfectly echoes the background wall.

The sofa is 2.35m long and 75cm deep, making it very comfortable whether you are sitting, lying or sleeping.

The coffee table is simple, light and easy to move, and you can adjust the space layout at any time according to your needs.

Move the coffee table away, lean back on the sofa to play games, read, or just lie on the carpet. When you live alone, you can do whatever makes you comfortable.

Opposite the sofa is the TV wall. The TV cabinet is 1.8m long and has a large internal capacity, which can store a lot of small items.

After the balcony was enclosed indoors, the insulated aluminum windows were replaced with thicker ones. When the windows are closed, the sound of traffic on the highway outside can hardly be heard.

The floor-to-ceiling windows are large enough to bring the distant scenery into the room.

A custom-made wall cabinet is placed on the left side of the balcony, and on the right side is a dynamic work area.

The desk is custom-made and comes with a whole wall of perforated board, on which you can hang many cute little objects to enrich the visual layering.

The middle part is designed as a "leisure corner". When the weather is good, you can read a book in the sun, feeling leisurely and comfortable.

By laying out a yoga mat, this place can immediately be transformed into a sunny fitness area, combining beauty and practicality.

The restaurant is located at the angle behind the entrance, facing the balcony. There is no obstruction in the middle, and the lighting is good.

The dining table is 1.4m✖️0.8m✖️0.75m, which can accommodate 2-4 people for daily use. If you have friends coming to your house for a party, you can move it to the living room and replace it with small stools, so that 11-12 people can sit easily.

The dining lights are specially dimmed so that the light is not glaring when you sit down.

The advantage of this is that the food can be photographed particularly well, the atmosphere can be maximized, and the height of the floor can be visually stretched.

There is a socket reserved under the dining table, so when you want to eat hot pot, you don’t have to run wires everywhere.

The sideboard is custom-made and can hold items that are not often used.

The interior is designed with different compartments and drawers according to regular sizes to facilitate classification and organization.

Before the renovation, there was an extra-long living room right at the entrance. Dongdongdongda built a wall with bricks to divide the entrance, making the entire apartment more layered.

Taking advantage of the height difference between floor heating, floor and wooden floor, the entrance is made sunken to prevent outdoor dust from entering the room.

On the left hand side is an extra-large dressing mirror, which enlarges the visual area after entering the room.

On the right hand side is a shoe cabinet with extra large capacity, the interior of which is divided into partitions of regular sizes.

There is also a human body sensor light next to the shoe cabinet. The light will turn on when you push the door, so you don’t have to grope for the switch in the dark when you get home at night.

The top light trough is designed with a groove so the light won’t be glaring.

There is also a mini storage room in the house to supplement the entrance.

When you get home from get off work every day, take off your coat and put it directly in the storage room to avoid piling up items in the entrance and living room.

Two cabinets were built in the storage room, with removable clothes hangers and partitions installed, so that coats and sundries have their own dedicated places.

Dongdongdongda also made four small drawers to store items used for shooting and some sundries.

Standing in the public area, through the glass door of the kitchen, you can see at a glance the neatly arranged items inside, which is beautiful and homely.

The cabinet is L-shaped, with the sink, worktop and stove located from the inside to the outside.

In order to achieve the ultimate goal of "never bending over", Dongdongdongda made two high and low platforms, with the stove being 87cm and the sink and workbench being 97cm, providing a particularly good experience for daily use.

The sink countertop is 110cm long and 60cm wide, and is equipped with a large single sink.

A desktop dishwasher is placed on the left side, and an electric rice cooker can be placed on the right side, so every square meter is not wasted.

Commonly used kitchen utensils are hung on the wall for easy access and do not take up workbench space.

The drawers under the cabinets are deep grooves, which are convenient for storing different kitchen utensils.

Dongdongdongda’s home has two bedrooms, the master bedroom is 9 square meters and the second bedroom is 8 square meters. Both bedrooms have only a lamp, a bed, a wardrobe and a desk.

After simplifying the functions of the bedroom, I spend much less time in bed.

Things that are usually done are moved to the living room, balcony or other areas, and living habits and conditions have also been greatly improved.

The master bedroom is less than 3m wide, but it still has a 1.8m bed. The aisles on both sides are narrow, so it looks a bit crowded.

But for the dynamic ones,The bedroom is used for sleeping. If the room is small, you have to use part of the space in exchange for comfort.

The bed is suspended under the ground, so although there is less storage space, it is easier to clean and visually looks less bulky.

The aisle between the wardrobe and the bed is only 47cm, and the wardrobe has a sliding door. Except that people cannot pass through after the door is opened, there are no other disadvantages.

PS: For wardrobes of the same thickness, the actual usable space inside the sliding door is larger than that of the sliding door.

The interior of the wardrobe adopts a partition design, with the entire area being used as a hanging area and 4 small drawers reserved for small items.

The part close to the head of the bed is divided into sections, and considering that there will be a bedside table next to it, there are no handles.

The bed in the second bedroom is 1.5 meters wide and is only 40 cm away from the wardrobe, so the wardrobe can only have sliding doors.

However, drawers are arranged on the sides of the wardrobe, so they are not affected by the aisle and are very convenient to use.

The bathroom is about 3.3 square meters, and the dry and wet areas are divided into small areas in the limited space.

The shower cubicle is diamond-shaped, which is perfect for small bathrooms.

The material of transparent black-framed glass looks very stylish. The door handle is vertical on the outside and horizontal on the inside, which is very suitable for pulling outward and pushing inward.

The toilet is tucked into the corner, with an extra socket next to it so that you don't have to worry about your phone running out of battery while you're squatting.

The phone holder is grooved to prevent it from slipping.

There is a light installed above the toilet, so you can have a sense of ritual when squatting.

The bathroom cabinet is suspended, 0.9 meters wide, and commonly used items are placed in the drawers, making the countertop much cleaner.

In terms of details, a diatomaceous earth absorbent pad is placed on the countertop to alleviate the problem of water accumulation.

The bathroom mirror is 0.9 meters wide and 1 meter high, and is excellent for taking selfies.

Since moving into his own house, Dongdongdongda has become increasingly adept at finding fun for himself in ordinary life.

A while ago, he dismantled the sofa and spent more than two hours giving the living room a major makeover.

He adjusted the position of the furniture, placing one sofa upright and the other at an angle, filling the middle with a side cabinet to leave space for people to stand, and also made the wall more interesting.

As a Sagittarius, Dongdongdongda cannot accept boredom. Even a small change at home can make him happy for a long time:“Rules are good, but I don’t like to follow them!”

After fixing the sofa, he replaced the TV stand with a new one and placed it diagonally opposite the sofa, making the living room more lively.

The freed-up TV cabinet can be used to place figures, puzzles and plants on it. When you get tired of watching TV, you can look at them and be filled with love.

After seeing the dynamic house, many people said: This house is just missing a hostess.

However, the 33-year-old has no plans to get married.

In fact, he has been wondering since junior high school why people have to grow up according to a set path of studying, graduating, working, getting married, and having children.

Getting married has never been on his to-do list.

In fact, Dongdongdongda also loves watching pure romance movies and likes children very much, but he will not waver on the issue of not getting married.

Many friends have advised him against it, and relatives have kept urging him, but even though people have been introducing him to potential partners, he has never gone on a single blind date.

He doesn't cater to others or pretend, he just wants to make himself happy.

The decision not to get married is not difficult, but the difficult part is to be firm.

Although he just wants to live alone, he lives every ordinary and repetitive day seriously.

If you can’t cook, learn it yourself; if you don’t know how to grow plants, start with simple things; even though you’re not a designer, you’re willing to decorate your home carefully.

Of course, Dongdongdongda does not encourage everyone to learn his attitude of "not getting married".

Everyone has his or her own way of life and has the helplessness of making choices, but never extinguish the fire in your heart.

Again,No matter how helpless and compromising life is, we must find ways to make ourselves happy.
