Chinanews.com, Gui'an New District, August 21 (Zhang Hongyan) The first China-ASEAN Thousand Schools Cooperation Conference was held in Gui'an New District, Guizhou Province on August 21. At the conference, 14 groups of representatives of the "China-ASEAN Thousand Schools Cooperation Plan" project schools held a signing ceremony, and the "Hand in Hand Guizhou Tour" activity of the thousand school principals was officially launched.

The first China-ASEAN Thousand Schools Conference was hosted by the China Education Association for International Exchange, with the theme of "Building a China-ASEAN educational exchange and cooperation platform, promoting China-ASEAN cultural exchanges, and promoting China-ASEAN regional development". More than 300 principals and teachers and students from Chinese and foreign schools attended the conference to exchange and share experiences and deepen the exchange and cooperation relations between China and ASEAN thousand schools.
Jia Peng, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Department of the Ministry of Education of China, said in his speech that the cooperation between the thousands of universities should break through the traditional cooperation model and make new contributions to building a cooperative ecology that is conducive to talent cultivation, resource sharing, and people-to-people exchanges. He hoped that the conference would gather more consensus and strength, promote the vigorous development of the cooperation between the thousands of universities, and contribute to building a closer China-ASEAN community with a shared future.
The conference also held a special seminar on "Thousands of Schools Join Hands to Create the Future". Participants exchanged views on scientific research cooperation, international exchanges, talent training, etc., and expressed the need to provide information and innovation support for the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" through high-quality education development, consolidate the educational foundation for the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" through high-level cultural exchanges, and give full play to the supporting, leading and connecting role of the China-ASEAN Thousand Schools Joining Hands to promote high-quality development of education.
The first batch of "China-ASEAN Thousand Schools Cooperation Plan" was organized and applied for by the International Cooperation and Exchange Department of the Ministry of Education of China in accordance with the work deployment of the "China-ASEAN People-to-People Exchange Year" in 2024. The project goal is to rely on the existing educational cooperation foundation with ASEAN countries, actively play the role of provincial-level education administrative departments in overall planning and coordination, fully mobilize the enthusiasm and initiative of schools, encourage and support Chinese schools of all levels and types to join the plan, expand cooperation with relevant ASEAN educational institutions, deepen China-ASEAN educational cooperation, promote educational connectivity, mutual learning and mutual benefit, and serve the development of China-ASEAN comprehensive strategic partnership.
