Fast Technology reported on August 21 that NVIDIA and MediaTek announced a collaboration at the Cologne Games Show in Germany to integrate NVIDIA's full suite of G-Sync technology into MediaTek's display control chip, allowing more users to get a clearer and smoother gaming experience.

Since its launch in 2013, G-Sync technology has been an important innovation of NVIDIA. Its core is to eliminate image tearing through variable refresh rate and provide better display effects.

However, G-Sync currently has two problems: first, users need to pay royalties to NVIDIA; second, graphics card competitor AMD has also launched a similar technology, FreeSync, which is completely free.

Therefore, through cooperation with MediaTek, the production process will be simplified and costs will be reduced, allowing gamers to buy full-featured G-Sync monitors at a lower price.

The two companies also announced that the first three collaborative monitors will be available later this year, namely the ASUS ROG Swift 360Hz PG27AQNR, Acer Predator XB273U F5 and AOC AGON PROAG276QSG2, all of which are 360Hz 2K monitors.

These new devices will support NVIDIA's latest display technology, G-Sync Pulsar, which can provide 4 times the effective motion clarity.
