Apple extends overseas AppleCare renewal window to 45 days

IT Home reported on August 21 that Apple has extended the renewal window for the AppleCare+ service plan.Customers now have up to 45 days to decide whether to renew their policyThis is more relaxed than the previous 30-day deadline.Apple confirmed the news in a support article on its website.


"You can purchase a new service plan within 45 days of the expiration of your original service plan," Apple said. Users can choose to renew for 24 months, 36 months, monthly or annually, but IT Home should note that the extended renewal window is only available in the following countries and regions:

  • Austria

  • Canada

  • Denmark

  • Finland

  • France

  • Germany

  • Ireland

  • Italy

  • Japan

  • Netherlands

  • New Zealand

  • Norway

  • Spain

  • Sweden

  • Switzerland

  • U.K.

  • USA

AppleCare+ is a paid service plan that extends the warranty period of your device and covers accidental damage. Applicable devices include iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV. In addition, AppleCare+ also provides "anti-theft and loss" service, and users can get two claims for theft or loss within 12 months.
