At the beginning of the establishment of Lingang New Area, the Oriental Core Port Integrated Circuit Comprehensive Industrial Base (hereinafter referred to as "Oriental Core Port") was launched and officially unveiled in October 2020.

To date, integrated circuits have become the leading industry with the largest investment scale, the highest industrial concentration, and the fastest output value growth in the Lingang New Area. The industry scale is expected to exceed 40 billion yuan in 2024 from less than 1 billion yuan in 2019. The total industry scale target for the next three years is to strive to achieve 80 billion yuan.

On the afternoon of August 19, before celebrating the "5th birthday" of Lingang New Area, a group of people working on integrated circuit technology in Lingang gathered at the Lingang Center on Haigang Avenue, where the 5th Anniversary Conference of Oriental Chip Port was held. Wu Xiaohua, deputy secretary of the Party Working Committee of Lingang New Area, expressed his gratitude at the scene, saying, "The entrepreneurs present here today are the greatest contributors to the construction of Oriental Chip Port."

In fact, as early as 10 years ago, Zhang Rujing, known as the "Godfather of China's Semiconductor Industry", was invited to establish Xinsheng Semiconductor in Lingang. In 2021, AMEC, led by Yin Zhiyao, officially launched the construction of AMEC Lingang Industrialization Base, AMEC Lingang Headquarters and R&D Base in Lingang. Wu Xiaohua especially mentioned at the scene that without the choices of Zhang Rujing, Yin Zhiyao and others and the companies they led, there would be no Lingang integrated circuit industry today.

How can the Lingang New Area develop towards a greater goal? Zhang Rujing believes that Lingang's integrated circuit industry conditions are very good, and the government also strongly supports it. It requires strong determination, including corporate cooperation, bank support, and schools to cultivate better and more suitable employees.
