"I think the club is doing those things. Trying to bring in talent, add quality players to the squad; make everyone more competitive and everyone fighting for their place.

"But my first choice was always to stay at the club. It wasn't even a request that I made, it was something I wanted to see: the club moving forward, so I could see the future was there. And now, to be honest, I see the club working towards that."
