National college entrance examination, comprehensive evaluation, strong foundation plan, art examination, overseas study... every path has its own highlights.
Recently, at the "Classmates Are Here" 2024 Guangbao Outstanding Students and Famous Teachers Sharing Session, outstanding students who are about to go to Peking University, Tsinghua University, Fudan University, South China University of Technology, Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, University of California, Berkeley and other higher education institutions, together with their parents and career planning guidance teachers, gathered together to share their experiences in studying, growth, and career planning.
Chang Mingxian, who graduated from Zhongshan Memorial Middle School, was admitted to Tsinghua University's law major as he wished this year. After learning about his growth story, we found that you can also learn from and imitate his path to success.
"My parents never told me what to study or what rank I should get in the exam."
Unlike many families, Chang Mingxian's parents did not intervene strongly during his growth. Instead, they played the role of supporters and guides, giving him the freedom to explore and let him find a learning path that suits his own pace. "My parents never gave me guidance, let alone criticism or blame. They never told me what I should learn, how I should learn, or what place I should get in the exam."
Regarding my studies, my parents did not have any specific opinions. Instead, they chose to leave professional matters to professionals and only needed to set a moral example. Chang Mingxian said: "They have been subtly guiding me in morality since I was a child, always telling me to be a sincere and kind person."
This kind of education method is obviously very effective, which enables Chang Mingxian to take the lead in learning, get along well with classmates after class, and often seek help from those around him in study and life. He believes that the way he handles these interpersonal relationships outside the family is largely due to the influence of his parents, and he is also very happy to gain the deep and sincere friendship of teachers and classmates in high school.
The best one is the one that suits you
In fact, there are many choices for "students" to plan their path to higher education. Maybe it would be easier to take other paths, but Chang Mingxian chose the National College Entrance Examination. Since he had more knowledge of liberal arts, especially politics and history, when he was preparing for higher education, he found that studying and taking these ordinary subjects through the National College Entrance Examination could give full play to his advantages.
However, after reflection, he found that he had not done much planning in the early stage for other things, which was actually a little lacking. Chang Mingxian did not regret this issue, "There are so many paths, in fact, choosing the one that suits me is the best, and I am very fortunate to find that this path is also suitable for me." Excellent people are excellent wherever they are, and he has always worked hard to do his best, so he has no regrets about his decision.
Start your journey in pursuit of fairness and justice at Tsinghua University
As he grew up, Chang Mingxian's affinity with law continued to deepen. When chatting with reporters, he said that he was a person with a wide range of interests, but unfortunately many of them were superficial and not specialized. For example, in terms of sports, he liked table tennis the most, and he never refused badminton and basketball, but he did not fully devote his energy to one of them. However, he became increasingly determined about his future career choice. "In the political science subject in high school, I initially came into contact with some legal knowledge. Although it was relatively introductory, it also planted the seeds of an interest."
Perhaps it was this seed that inspired his desire to explore further. In the club activities of high school, Chang Mingxian participated in some simulated CPPCC and lecture activities organized by the school. With the help of these activities, he got a deeper understanding of legal knowledge and the spirit of the rule of law, and found that he was really interested in them. "The fairness and justice pursued by the rule of law construction has a very strong appeal to me."
In order to realize his dream, Chang Mingxian constantly improves his political and legal literacy and pays attention to current affairs. He said that he made this choice because he hopes to contribute to the construction of a country ruled by law and China's modernization with his professional knowledge. With the support of his parents and his own unremitting efforts, Chang Mingxian will use Tsinghua University as a platform to start his journey in pursuit of justice.
