Reference News reported on August 20 According to a report by China Review News Agency on August 19, Huang Jieru, a representative of young Taiwanese entrepreneurs in Xi'an, said at the opening ceremony of the "Meet in Chang'an, Youth Walk Together" - 2024 Shaanxi-Taiwan Cultural Exchange Week: "Xi'an's urban construction is developing rapidly, the stage is very large, and there are many opportunities. My pattern and horizons have been broadened a lot, and I have more opportunities to learn and room to play. In this process, I seem to have found a feeling of growing and resonating with this city."

According to the report, Huang Jieru is an architect from Taoyuan, Taiwan. She came to Shaanxi in 2014, which is exactly 10 years ago. Huang Jieru founded her own space design brand in Xi'an, mainly engaged in architecture and space design. She has participated in many major planning, rural reconstruction, hospitals, schools and other design projects in Xi'an and surrounding cities. At the same time, Huang Jieru is also a Taiwanese daughter-in-law who married to Shaanxi, and a graduate student of Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology.

"When I was working in Taiwan, the projects I took on were often very small. But the company in Xi'an can participate in large-scale urban planning and design, and I was instantly attracted." Huang Jieru said that in 2014, she started a busy life traveling between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait.

Huang Jieru still clearly remembers the first project she participated in in Xi'an. "It was a renewal project for the old urban area of the Textile City in the eastern suburbs of Xi'an. It was filled with old Soviet-style buildings and factories, which blended with Xi'an's history as an ancient capital of 13 dynasties and more than 3,000 years of city construction. It made people fall in love with it at first sight."

Afterwards, Huang Jieru participated in international design competitions for world-class museums such as the Banpo Museum in Xi'an and the Museum of the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor. "These public constructions based on culture are golden opportunities for young designers."

Talking about her entrepreneurial journey, Huang Jieru said that the first project she took over after starting her business was the design of a hotel with 300 rooms. "It is almost impossible for a startup studio to undertake a project of such scale in Taiwan."

According to the report, Huang Jieru worked harder to understand the history and customs of Xi'an because of work needs, and also made many good friends there. The straightforwardness of northerners and the comfortable and convenient life made her more determined to settle here. The pace of life in the northwest is slower than in Taipei, so she has more time to feel the fireworks of Xi'an, taste Shaanxi snacks and appreciate Qinqiang.

Huang Jieru found that as the northwest is developing better and better, more and more Taiwanese girls are willing to live in Shaanxi. "I am willing to continue to use my successful experience to encourage more outstanding young women to understand the real mainland, help them take advantage of more convenient policies that benefit Taiwan, and strengthen their willingness to develop in the west."

In addition, China Review News Agency also reported on August 19 that Taiwanese dancer Li Weichun recently expressed during the "Meet in Chang'an, Youth Walk Together" - 2024 Shaanxi-Taiwan Cultural Exchange Week that he hopes more young people will come to the mainland of the motherland to develop and see the beautiful scenery of the great rivers. The performing arts on both sides of the strait are very rich. It is hoped that artists in different fields can integrate resources with each other to create works that can be seen by more people. It is also hoped that more young Taiwanese artists will come to the mainland to develop and promote unification with culture.

According to the report, Li Weichun is from Kaohsiung, Taiwan. He performed Tai Chi Zen Dance, which is full of classical artistic conception, at the opening ceremony. Li Weichun said that Tai Chi combined with Zen dance, combining hardness and softness, can show the connotation of Chinese traditional culture.

Li Weichun had seen the Terracotta Warriors in history textbooks and TV dramas since he was a child. He was deeply moved after visiting the Terracotta Warriors in person. Li Weichun said: "I hope to bring (works) to pay tribute to the Terracotta Warriors when I come to Xi'an again in the future."

Li Weichun said that there is frequent exchange of dance art between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait. Taiwanese dancers often come to Beijing for dance training, and some Taiwanese dancers also go to learn Dunhuang dance, Tibetan dance, Mongolian dance, etc.

"The mainland is so big, there are so many beautiful places." Li Weichun said that he hopes more young people will come to the mainland to develop and see the beautiful scenery of the great rivers. The performing arts on both sides of the Taiwan Strait are very rich. He hopes that artists in different fields can integrate resources and create works that can be seen by more people. He also hopes that more young Taiwanese artists will come to the mainland to develop and promote unification through culture.
