existLeague of LegendsIn the e-sports arena, Vietnam's GAM team has always been the wildcard team. They have been rising strongly since 2017, making a big splash in the Mid-Season Invitational and the World Finals, and have long been the strongest wildcard team. Since then, GAM has become the phantom god of the VCS region, and even had a feud with LPL powerhouses such as TES. And this season, they once again successfully won the League of Legends Vietnam League Summer Championship with their outstanding performance and unparalleled strength.

On the evening of August 18, the Vietnam VCS League ushered in the summer season finals. The GAM team swept the VKE team coached by former WBG jungler SofM with an absolute advantage in three straight games and successfully won the league championship trophy. This victory is not only a high recognition of GAM's strength, but also the best reward for their continuous efforts and unremitting pursuit. The top player Kiaya was named the finals MVP for his outstanding performance. His stable performance has become an indispensable part of GAM's road to victory.

Not only that, this is the sixth time in a row that GAM has topped the tournament, demonstrating its solid position as the leader of Vietnamese e-sports. After the game, the official League of Legends event showed GAM's honors in the Vietnamese region:

We can see that from the 2017 Spring Season to date, GAM has won a total of ten championship trophies in the VCS region, which is a very scary result. Only T1 and G2 can be compared with this in the four major regions. If it weren't for the cancellation of the summer season in 2021 due to the epidemic, they might have extended this streak further. With this victory, GAM not only secured a place in the 2024 World Finals, but also a fixed seat in the 2025 Asia-Pacific League, ensuring that the team can continue to be active in the new season of League of Legends.

In the second half of this year's VCS Spring Season, the Vietnamese e-sports circle has attracted much attention due to the match-fixing scandal. Every team was found to have engaged in match-fixing, and many players were suspended. GAM, as the leader, was not spared. However, in the face of many difficulties, GAM showed amazing resilience and adaptability. Before the start of the Spring Season playoffs, GAM quickly made adjustments, promoted the substitute mid-lane player Emo to the starting position, and signed the last-ranked RW bottom lane player EasyLove. At the same time, the addition of the auxiliary player Elio also injected fresh blood into the team.

Despite the major changes in the lineup, GAM successfully overcame various challenges with tacit teamwork and outstanding individual performance, and finally defeated VKE in the spring finals, proving their strength again. With the arrival of the summer season, GAM kept this lineup and played again. Although they lost to VKE in the regular season, they double-killed their opponents in the playoffs. GAM's e-sports legend continues, and Levi leads the playoffs with 4 MVPs. We have reason to believe that in the days to come, GAM will continue to maintain its leading position and write a new chapter for Vietnamese e-sports.

With GAM winning the championship again, they will go to Europe with VKE, which means that on the international stage in September this year, GAM will have the opportunity to compete with top teams from all over the world and win more honors and respect for Vietnamese e-sports. For GAM, this is both an opportunity and a challenge. They need to keep breaking through themselves and improving their level while maintaining their current strength to cope with a more intense competitive environment. After all, there are only 2 qualifying places in the play-in round, and there are 6 teams in the play-in round. VCS needs the top two to ensure entry into the main competition.
