According to the United Daily News, the rumored Apple desktop robot has appeared in its global supply chain for the first time.

Apparently, Apple has chosen Hon Chuan to play a key role in the development of the upcoming device. Specifically, the supplier will be responsible for developing key mechanical components and the outer shell of the desktop robot.

Once the product enters mass production, Hon Chuan, a subsidiary of Foxconn, Apple's long-time manufacturing partner, will be responsible for mass-producing the mechanical components.

At its most recent shareholder meeting, Hon Chuan announced its intention to invest in emerging technologies such as robotics and artificial intelligence, marking a shift away from the company’s traditional focus on producing laptop and gaming console cases.

Apple's robot project, reportedly codenamed J595 internally, is described by Bloomberg as a desktop device that combines an iPad-like display with a robotic arm. It is designed to be the central hub of Apple's smart home ecosystem, integrating with other Apple products and services such as Siri and running a variant of iPadOS.
