West China Metropolis Daily (Reporter Cao Fei) On August 19, the reporter learned from Shudao Group that Sichuan’s first set of AI intelligent robotic arm card-issuing robots at the entrance of expressways and multi-mode self-service payment systems at the exits were recently officially put into pilot operation at the Xiexing Toll Station on the Baguanyu Expressway, marking the official start of the intelligent transformation of the Baguanyu Expressway.
It is reported that this is the first time that an AI intelligent robotic arm card-issuing robot has been used on expressways in Sichuan Province. The system replaces traditional manual card issuance and toll collection, effectively improving the efficiency of toll stations and creating an innovative application scenario for artificial intelligence and robotics technology.
From the intuitive data, after the robot "takes office", the speed of entry vehicles is shortened by about 1-2 seconds compared with manual card issuance, and the traffic efficiency is improved by nearly 10%. The system is equipped with laser sensors and video AI equipment to intelligently sense the height, window position, and parking distance of the vehicle, and drive the robotic arm to accurately deliver the pass card to the driver and passengers. It not only optimizes the card retrieval method, but also solves many problems that are difficult to deal with by traditional card retrieval methods, such as random parking positions, difficult card retrieval, and inconsistent vehicle heights. In addition, the exit robot uses upper and lower double trays to receive the cards, and transmits, recycles, and reads and writes CPC cards through the conveyor belt. The driver only needs to deliver the card to the tray to quickly collect and read the card, making payment more efficient and passage more convenient.
In addition, the AI intelligent toll collection robot uses advanced image recognition and artificial intelligence recognition equipment to perform secondary verification of license plates and vehicle models, which can more accurately identify license plates and vehicle models, avoid incorrect charges and missed charges, and integrate multiple functions such as overload and overlimit management to facilitate special situation handling and ensure high accuracy of toll collection. The system also integrates the ETC function simultaneously, which can support ETC vehicles to pass without stopping.
When dealing with special situations, the import and export AI intelligent toll collection robot also demonstrates its unique advantages. Drivers can use the "Help" button on the device to conduct two-way video calls with backstage staff to remotely solve various special situations and effectively improve traffic efficiency.
