On August 19, the launch ceremony of the East China ground station of "Tiansuan Constellation" jointly sponsored by Yantai University and Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications was held. The "Tiansuan Constellation" East China Ground Station is located on the roof of the Yantai University Comprehensive Building. It is equipped with a 3.7-meter X-band antenna. As an open micro-satellite measurement and control platform, it can realize real-time measurement and control and data transmission of medium and low orbit satellites.
The East China ground station of the "Tiansuan Constellation" can receive data from medium and low orbit remote sensing satellites and has a satellite remote sensing related technology platform. It will carry out multidisciplinary, cross-domain and cross-regional satellite computing application technology innovation research, including dynamic on-demand satellite service deployment strategies, multi-time and space scale inter-satellite load balancing mechanisms, and intelligent satellite-ground resource joint scheduling methods. And the realization of a satellite edge computing resource scheduling prototype system.

Wang Yingjie, vice dean of the School of Computer and Control Engineering at Yantai University, said that the ground stations are a major national scientific and technological infrastructure and an important part of the satellite communication system. Their basic function is to transmit measurement and control signals to satellites and receive data sent back by satellites, providing solid support for achieving "seamless" docking between satellites and the ground.
"Yantai has a superior geographical location. Building a ground station here can radiate the entire Northeast Asia." Wang Shangguang said, "This is the first ground station of the 'Tiansuan Constellation'. Ground stations will be built in other universities in the future."
It is reported that the "Tiansuan Constellation" is an open and open-source space computing in-orbit test platform initiated by Professor Wang Shangguang's team of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, and jointly built by many domestic universities, research institutes, China Mobile, Huawei and other units. In April 2022, Yantai University became one of the first member units of the "Tiansuan Constellation" and co-built the "Tiansuan Constellation" satellite joint debugging platform with Professor Wang Shangguang's team. In January 2023, the first "Tiansuan Constellation" main satellite developed by Yantai University was launched into space. In order to promote the progress of space science and technology, Yantai University has undertaken the task of building the East China ground station of the "Tiansuan Constellation".
