On August 17, an event to celebrate the 115th anniversary of Lanzhou University and the 5th anniversary of the establishment of the Singapore Alumni Association was held in Singapore. The theme of the event was to promote economic cooperation between China and Singapore, strengthen exchanges between alumni in different industries, and enhance communication among alumni associations of Chinese universities in Singapore. More than 60 leaders of alumni associations of universities participated in the event.
At the celebration, alumni entrepreneurs, industry executives and entrepreneurs from China and Singapore exchanged ideas. Zhang Xin, president of the Lanzhou University Singapore Alumni Association, said that Lanzhou University alumni in Singapore are now involved in various industries such as semiconductors, medicine, finance, artificial intelligence, the Internet, trade, media, communications, new energy, and new materials. Among them, there are many senior managers and professionals who have been working for many years. They are capable of building a full range of information chains and providing certain resources for domestic alumni companies from China. They will take the school anniversary and the alumni association celebration as a new starting point to actively play a role in promoting cooperation between Singapore and Chinese universities and enterprises.
According to incomplete statistics, there are more than 40 Chinese university alumni associations registered with the Singapore Societies Bureau. At present, the alumni associations of Chinese universities such as Lanzhou University in Singapore have become an important force in "linking Chinese and Singaporean universities and enterprises and building a bridge for win-win cooperation."
